quick lesson on reading graphic novels

You have probably read comics already, but just to refresh your memory, storytelling in comics and graphic novels works similarly to traditional text stories. Like any good story, the author is aiming for two things:

 

The difference is that the stories are told through both text and pictures.  To read graphic novels effectively, you need to "fill in the gaps" between the panels, filling in the images that are not there to make sense of the ones that are.
