Viewing Blade Runner

Viewing either the workprint version (see description below) or the 2007 version, consider the following questions:

1) What is the mood of the film?  How is that created by: (i) the scenery (ii) the filming (iii) the music) (iv) the pace of the film?

2) How is the mood and tone of the film similar to the novel?  Explain.

3) Is the message of the film the same as the novel, in your opinion?

4) Are the characters the way that you pictured them when reading the novel? Share your impressions of Deckard, the replicants, and Wilbur.   Why do you think there is no Iran in the film?

5) Which do you think is a more effective medium for the story being told by Dick - print or film?
