Remaining Assignments
Assignment One: Short Story
Write one short story borrowing from Hemmingway's iceberg technique:
"Hemingway believed that a good writer does not need to reveal every detail of a character or action. The one-eighth that is presented will suggest all other meaningful dimensions of the story. Thus, Hemingway’s language is symbolic and suggestive."
Assignment Two: Writer's Notebook
Continue to record thoughts and feelings about a wide range of creative writing exercises and activities.
Assignment Three: Poetry Writing
Create 10 poems, writing about Canada's landscape, society, personal experiences, life, or dreams.
Assignment Four: Novel Reflection
Read and reflect on a novel in a personal essay about one of life's truths. This could be done as a audio essay instead of a written one. (I would suggest writing about one of the novel's that you are already reading for English).
